Detaching the top panel often causes difficulties for ordinary users. But, once having removed the top cover yourself, you will be convinced that there is nothing complicated in it, and forever remember the easy sequence of actions. You do not need professional skills, an expensive and rare tool, a lot of time.
Use our recommendations and you will learn how to remove the top cover of the washing machine.
Cover removal
Often the need for dismantling arises from a breakdown inside the case. If you encounter a breakdown of the washing machine, you need to figure out the cause of the malfunction - this is where disassembly is needed. In many cases, it begins by removing the cover.
If you are interested in which washing machines the top cover is removed, then the first answer to the question will be: for front-loading CMs. In the article we will consider whether this can be done independently.
As for brands and models, it happens that under the same brand there are different lineups, in which the covers are removed in different ways, and maybe not removed at all.
If your machine is not older than 10 years, the top cover in it must be removed.
Removing the top cover of the washing machine will not require careful preparation, and from the tools you need only a screwdriver - give preference to the cross type.
Important! The top panel is bolted to the rear. Therefore, if your washing machine is installed right next to the wall, you need to extend the machine.
Do not forget about safety: before removing the cover, unplug the power cord by removing the plug from the outlet. Then proceed as follows:
- Extend the machine for convenience, and unscrew the mounting bolts (located on the back).
- Slide the panel back slightly, pushing it slightly.
- When it comes out of its grooves, you can easily remove it.
- Now, nothing prevents you from getting inside the SM case to make the necessary checks and repairs.
Knowing how to open the top cover of the washing machine, you automatically get the concept of how to close it. To reinstall the panel, you need to put the front part into the grooves and push it forward. At the very end, the fasteners are screwed.
Rare cases
Above, we examined the removal of the upper part from the machines on which the classic fastening of the top cover is provided. But what if your cover is attached differently?
This question is often asked by owners of washing machines of brands such as Ardo. As in the standard case, you will need to unscrew the mounting bolts. But further actions are fundamentally different:
- After removing the screws, lift the back of the cover slightly up.
- Continuing to lift the panel, slide it forward, moving relative to the machine body.
- You can move the part, doing operations only at a certain angle. If it doesn’t come out for the first time, try again and again until you “catch” the desired degree.
In the Bosch and Siemens typewriters that have been released for quite some time, the panels also attach differently. In modern models, there are no difficulties with picking up, but with the "old women" you need to tinker with:
- Find the mounting bolts. They are located not on the back, but on the front panel and are hidden by caps.
- Having unscrewed the fasteners, lift the panel and pull forward relative to the SMA housing. As in the previous case, you need to look for a suitable angle for easy removal of the panel.
